The Physical Therapy Department at Capital Medical Center is staffed by
experienced professionals who provide specialized care in the treatment of:
- Orthopedic injures and conditions including fractures, sprains, strains, neck & back injuries, sports injuries, joint replacement, mechanical spine and joint pain, arthritis, surgical repairs & reconstruction such as ACL and rotator cuff repairs
- Postural dysfunction syndromes
- Soft tissue and myofascial conditions, including fibromyalgia
- Amputations
- General reconditioning, needed secondary to debilitation due to injury, surgery, or disease
- Vestibular and balance disorders
- Gait disturbances
- Open wounds
- Adult neurological disorders including but not limited to stroke, MS, and Parkinson’s disease
- Urinary incontinence
Our therapists employ a variety of treatment techniques and procedures including:
- Manual therapy
- Soft tissue and joint mobilization
- Core and extremity strengthening exercises
- Gait training
- Range of motion exercises
- Neuromuscular re-education
- Specific treatment protocols including: Dynamic Lumbar Stabilization, Patello-Femoral Treatment programs, and mechanical diagnosis and treatment (McKenzie Method)
- Posture and body mechanics training
- Work conditioning
- Ultrasound
- Electrical stimulation
- Mechanical traction
- Moist heat and cold therapy
- Iontophoresis
- Wound care and debridement
- Biofeedback muscle re-education
